We have discovered a number of salons using ‘branded’ colouring products which are not UK compliant and have been purchased from smaller unauthorised distributors.
This may well save a few pennies but any salons are completely unaware of the potentially serious risks for the professional which include the following:
• Non UK Compliant colour may have instructions and warnings in a foreign language with no English instructions – this can cause your salon liability insurance to become invalid.
• Imported colour may be counterfeit and contents could be dangerous and of a lesser quality and not tested properly.
• Major manufacturers will most likely not offer advice & support on non-legitimate or counterfeit colour.
• ‘Grey Market’ colour cannot be guaranteed to be in date, stored correctly and match performance of genuine products.
• Please ensure your hairdressing wholesaler is a genuine supplier of UK products as the larger ones amongst us should be and beware of very low colour prices!
