Scissor Sharpening Service
At Salon Supplies we have teamed up with Extreme Edge to provide an easy service for our customers to keep their scissors sharp.
Extreme Edge provide a full scissor sharpening service, which includes repairs where possible, re-balancing, re-alignment, polishing and setting the correct tension. They are also one of the few sharpening companies in the UK able to fully convex hairdressing scissors.
They take the scissors apart so that the full length of the blade can be sharpened and use a water-cooled machine to ensure the scissors never overheat. The scissors are hand sharpened using various grades of wet and dry paper, Japanese wet stones and polishing leathers. They remove the absolute minimum amount of metal necessary, helping to preserve the life of the scissors.
The current price is £17.00 per pair of hairdressing scissors or thinners. Any repairs or replacement parts required as part of the service are free of charge.
Customers can choose Royal Mail Tracked 24 return postage at £4.65 or Royal Mail Special Delivery at £9.45. They also offer a same-day turnaround service for an additional £4.00 per pair of scissors.
Their standard turnaround is two working days from receipt of payment.
Extreme Edge contact customers as soon as their scissors arrive and they can pay via credit/debit card, PayPal or bank transfer. Once the scissors have been sharpened and serviced, they return them directly to the customer.
They also send the customer a text when their scissors leave their premises, so they can track their parcel through Royal Mail.
How It Works: In-Store
If you're a regular in-store customer you can pop into your local Salon Supplies Store with your scissors you require sharpening, and ask for the 'Scissor Sharpening Form'.
You can then fill out the form, pop your blunt scissors into the envelope with the form, and then send them off to Extreme Edge using your chosen Royal Mail service from the options above.

Extreme Edge also receive many scissors where the hairdresser simply includes their contact and return details with the scissors, so using the printed form isn't essential if you don't hace access to a printer.
